Day 94: New Salem, ND

The wind continued similar to yesterday, a strong crosswind/headwind. Most of the day was on old highway 10 with some sections on I94 since some of old highway 10 is gravel. At one point there was a gravel detour due to construction that was practically sand. I had to walk past some sections because I would just sink in, but the whole thing was less than 5 miles so it was manageable. I could also see tracks from the last cyclist who came through.

I camped at the Sweet Briar Lake, which has free dispersed campsites. The campsites are far apart, scattered around the edges of the lake, so it really feels private. The site I picked is on a peninsula and has a pit toilet.

A grasshopper has decided to take up residence under my rain fly. Probably to get out of the wind.
