When I woke up, it was so overcast and foggy it looked like it was still the middle of the night. I had to wait a half hour after tearing down my tent for the visibility to improve enough to start riding. My glasses quickly got so wet from the air I just took them off. When I eventually got to a gas station, I put in contacts. I’m glad I brought a few pairs!
The wind was tame in the morning, but picked up in the afternoon as it does. A few times I got a tailwind for a couple miles, but it was predominantly headwind again. There are more trees in this area, so there also were times that there was enough tree coverage to cut the wind. Still, my average speed has been under 10mph all week.
I camped at the Hazelton city park. There were children playing basketball and yelling about Pokemon very close to my tent.
