I started the day going up my second mountain. This one was a bit steeper and more sustained, but less millage. After coming back down the mountain, I entered Grand Teton National Park. Most of Teton had a moderate shoulder, but the roads were overall skinny and many campers were driving in the shoulder.
I stopped at Flagg Ranch for several hours in the afternoon to wait for traffic to die down since there is no shoulder in Yellowstone. Even starting at 6pm, it was very challenging to ride. Many drivers do not pass appropriately and there really isn’t an option to quickly get off the road.
Just before reaching my campsite, I ran into a cyclist headed the opposite direction. They are from New Zealand and working on the Guineas World Record for being the first transgender person to bike around the world. We decided to get a campsite together at Grant Village. There was another cyclist from South Africa at the campsite as well heading to Canada.
