The dogs weren’t quite as bad today, but still a nuisance. I hope they dissipate as I cross into Virginia tomorrow. I had 1 especially rough hill today and got off my bike to take a break only to find the hill was too steep to get myself balanced on the bike again and ended up walking almost half a mile up where the grade dropped back into single digits.
There was a big downpour in the early afternoon. I successfully timed my riding so that I was at the grocery store when it happened to keep dry.
I crossed paths with a trio of cyclists heading west and we traded dog forecasts and camping suggestions. I spent the night at a little campsite on a trail behind the Timeout Pizza & Grill in Elkhorn City, KY.
